Nomination for 2017 Officers

Each year we have an election for the officers’ position on the Skål International Washington DC Board. The Officers positions make-up the Executive Committee of our club.

The positions which will be voted on by the membership are as follows;

President

Vice President

Secretary

Treasurer.

The Nominating Committee Members who will oversee this process are Past President Jim Deutsch who will be assisted by Senior Skål USA Representative Bill Moyer and Past President Mary Peters.

It is never too soon to start thinking about whom you’d like to see in one of those positions. Traditionally, the President has learnt the other Officer skills, by completing a term in each of the other Officer jobs, before assuming the President's role, but unforeseen circumstances sometime cause the Board to vary from that tradition

Officer positions will commence on January 1st, 2017 and will  usually be for one year.

We need to present the proposed 2017 slate of officers at our September Board meeting, so please talk to your Skålleagues and nominate someone whom you feel can both fulfill the role, but also can, in time, take the Club Leadership position, as President. We will plan to present the proposed officers at the October meeting.

Anyone interested in running for an officer position is required to submit their nomination no later than September 16th. The Executive Board slate can be presented and voted upon at the October meeting as required in our bylaws.

Job Position Statements are available for all those interested in running for one of these positions. Please contact membership Chair Bill Croke (bill.croke@gmail.com)

Skål Photos

Do you have any current or old Skål electronic Photos that you’d share?

We’ll gladly post them on our Gallery; all we want is the date (approximate will do), Event (if you can rememberJ) and identify whom you can please!

I’ll post as many originals as I can, tho' I probably will not duplicate where photos are, for the most part, similar.

On an ongoing basis, when you’re at our monthly event, please use your camera, email the photos to me before the end of the month and I’ll post them as part of our ‘Last Month’s Event’s Gallery’ on the Newsletter.

You’ll notice that we only had one snap from July’s great event at the Willard Intercontinental……..we can do better that that!
